Managing your feelings

Dealing with our emotions

Smiley faces with emotions on them.

Sometimes it’s not easy to talk about our emotions so writing things down can really help.

Keep a diary: Some young people like to keep a diary.

Draw pictures: Other young people find it easier to draw pictures that show how they are feeling.

Share: Share with someone you trust the things you have written or drawn so that they understand how you feel.

Remember! Looking after our emotions is as important as looking after our bodies.

When we get older, there’s more we can do to manage how we feel for ourselves, but for now, the best thing we can do is talk.
